The core spine comes first: shift, holiday, attendance, leave, payroll. Late marks and overtime are stamped at punch time and never recomputed later. Leave balances run by financial year with pro-rata accrual, and the attendance register is sealed once payroll for the month is approved, so the numbers that were paid are the numbers that stay.
Payroll is reviewed before it can be approved and every change after that is a revision, never an overwrite. PF ECR, ESI, professional tax, LWF, TDS 24Q and Form 16 are generated from the approved run, and minimum-wage and labour-code checks show as flags on the run rather than surprises at audit.
Around the spine sit the modules a growing company needs: employee lifecycle from invite to separation with a document vault, recruitment with resume search and an invite-only agency portal, expenses and local conveyance, field work with consent-gated location, sanctioned headcount and positions, and seven statutory registers exported to CSV. Groups run several legal entities, plants and country profiles under one company.
What Klok does not do today: performance reviews, learning management, or a live link to biometric devices. Biometric attendance comes in as a device export. If those are must-haves, Klok is not the right fit yet, and we would rather say so here.
